Commitment to a sustainable supply chain is one of the key elements of our journey towards the energy transition. With the publication of the “Suppliers Code of Conduct” and the “Sustainable Procurement Policy”, which integrate ESG criteria into procurement processes, we strengthen the shared commitment to making the supply chain increasingly transparent, resilient and aligned with our standards in the areas of environmental protection, respect for human rights and workplace safety.
With the two new documents, the “Suppliers Code of Conduct” and the “Sustainable Procurement Policy”, we strengthen our strategic positioning aimed at promoting responsible practices throughout the entire procurement cycle. We also confirm that our suppliers are key partners in achieving energy transition and sustainable development goals, contributing to ESG performance and the Group’s long-term resilience, as well as to Stakeholder value creation.
These are the main contents:
The Suppliers Code of Conduct establishes the principles and standards of behavior that all Enel suppliers are required to comply with in order to ensure responsible and sustainable management of the supply chain. The Code applies not only to direct suppliers but also to subcontractors and sub-suppliers, promoting an approach that extends to the entire supply chain. The document sets out guidelines in the environmental, social and governance areas, requiring respect for human and labor rights, environmental protection, the adoption of high health and safety standards, and compliance with the principles of integrity, transparency and legality. The Code therefore represents a key element in promoting ethical business relationships aligned with the Group’s sustainability goals.
The Sustainable Procurement Policy defines the framework through which the Enel Group integrates sustainability principles throughout the entire procurement cycle, placing suppliers at the center of its long-term value creation strategy. The document establishes a structured approach that includes the integration of ESG criteria (environmental, social and governance) in all phases of the process – from supplier selection to contract management and performance monitoring.
The Policy promotes supply chain decarbonization, risk management, supplier development and compliance with the highest ethical standards, human rights, health and safety. At the same time, it defines a governance model that ensures alignment with major international regulations and guidelines, contributing to the Group’s sustainability goals, including the achievement of climate neutrality across the value chain.
Through the publication of the Suppliers Code of Conduct and the Sustainable Procurement Policy, we make clearer the principles and processes guiding this commitment: the Code defines the standards that the Group requires from its suppliers, while the Policy establishes how we integrate sustainability into procurement processes, from supplier selection to contract management. Together, these tools foster progressive alignment across the entire supply chain.
