Enel, through its Open Innovability® crowdsourcing platform, is hosting a challenge of Gruppo CAP titled “Detection of Inflow and Infiltration (I&I) in sewer networks”.
Inflow and Infiltration (I&I) are waters generated by unplanned point or diffuse infiltration within the sewer system, due to structural deficiencies or even interconnection with the surface water network and groundwater. Inflow and Infiltration (I&I) issue reduce the capacity of the sewerage system, generate the improper and early activation of combined sewer overflows (CSOs) and reduce the efficiency of the wastewater treatment plants.
The research of the Inflow and Infiltration (I&I) with classical systems is long and expensive, it requires iterative systems for the identification of the areas affected by the problem, operating on extensions of limited size in order to intervene successfully.
Gruppo CAP is looking for innovative and sustainable solutions for an efficient research of I&I.
