Every year, Enel meets its suppliers in the context of special events, created to put all the stakeholders in contact. These are important moments that strengthen mutual knowledge and the relationship between the suppliers and the customer and represent an opportunity to discover the main news, in terms of both supply - demand and organization.
In Brazil, Enel Supplier's Day took place on April 26th: the meeting was promoted by the Procurement Board gathered around 155 suppliers and addressed issues such as Procurement transformation, safety and ethics.
Opening the event the Country Manager and CEO of Enel Brazil, Mr. Carlo Zorzoli underlined the importance of customer-supplier relationship: "Our relationship is relevant to our business and to yours as well. Our success is not a success without working together with our partners, " he said
Safety is a priority theme for Enel and was the theme that opened the agenda with the presentation of Aloisio Baptista and Eduardo Dyer, responsible for HSEQ of Distribution and Renewable Energies, respectively. According to data presented, in 2017 Enel in Brazil recorded a 34% reduction in the frequency of accidents. They also took the opportunity to present the new SHE365 project, which demonstrates the daily commitment to safety, health and the environment. "We work with people and the line between life and death is very thin. We depend on you, on your commitment. Tell people to do their activities safely, because we need you, "said Dyer.
Following that, Procurement Director Margot Cohn highlighted the Procurement Transformation project, which aims to improve the end-to-end experience of stakeholders. To this end, the action plan proposes to improve integration and communication with customers, delivering more effective solutions for all lines of business; involve suppliers from the outset; and extend the skills of buyers with the use of technologies.
"We want to broaden our horizons, listen more and develop together. This project involves around 300 people in the world and we already have 25 initiatives implemented. It is a transformation not only of processes but also of mindset, "explained Margot.
It was not just an announcement, but a real workshop, during which the representative of Suppliers Management and Development Brazil, Gustavo Avilla, explained the main changes that will affect the new qualification process and gathered feedback from suppliers. The grafting of digitization into the process will guarantee greater flexibility and efficiency, making the qualification a user-friendly path that meets users and their needs; in this context, the use of artificial intelligence in some steps of the decision-making process will be a determining asset to streamline and speed up all the steps.
Supplier's Day also provides an opportunity to share important strategic points and the results obtained. Carlo Zorzoli presented the investment plans and the strategic vision of Enel in Brazil.
Other topics addressed were Enel in Brazil, Business Lines, Sustainability, Qualification, Ethics and Finance.
However, the meeting was not focused only on Enel, because Supplier's Day intends to make suppliers also protagonists. As in other countries, Brazilian suppliers which in the course of 2017 have distinguished themselves for their excellent performance as Vendor Rating in their respective business lines, have received special recognition. Each award assigned is a success: for Enel Brazil, for contractors, for the entire Group.
